Nigerian chef Hilda Baci responded to the Abuja-based company's threat of legal action after initially publicly denying knowing anything about their planned event.
According to Bendelnews, Hilda reportedly denied rumours a few days ago that she was charging visitors to Abuja 25, 000 Naira to watch her prepare food.
In a message on her social media profile, Baci cancelled the "meet and greet" event and made it clear that she had not requested that anyone pay such a sum of money.
"Hello everyone," she said. This is to let everyone know that there will be no meet and greet events in Abuja. Additionally, I would never want payment for such.
Hilda has been called out by the event's organisers with accusations and documentation of payments made for the event, though.
They said that an advance payment was given to the celebrity chef and that both sides agreed to release a publication for the occasion.
The event's planners acknowledged that Hilda's behaviour had a negative impact on their reputation and promised to take all necessary measures to see that justice was done in the matter.
In reaction to the accusations, the Akwa-Ibom-born chef on Monday night made it clear to her supporters via her verified social media account that the money paid by the event's organisers was refunded since she was uncomfortable with the charging conditions.
She added that she had informed the organisers of her decision to leave the agreement in the hopes that they would not put the flyers up on their platform. She refused to take part in their planned event, but unfortunately they went ahead.
