Chacha Eke, a Nollywood actress, has revealed that as a child, she grew to hate her mother intensely and even longed for her demise.
According to her, having a mental illness "that switches your favourite to your least favourite" is what made her hate her mother.
The actress claimed that false revelations from so-called men of God who warned her that her mother was out for her life only served to intensify her loathing of her mother.
Eke made this announcement on Wednesday while celebrating her mother's birthday on her Instagram page.
She uploaded a video to Instagram with the message, "This is a video of me with my biological Mom. When I was younger, I had a deep affection for her. She was and still my closest friend.
As I grew older, however, I started to detest and grow a strong contempt for her. To reinforce my euphoria, I experienced nightmares and hallucinations. Unfortunately, after several manic episodes, many men of God warned me that she was pursuing my life.
So I started wishing for her death and spoke about her in the most disgusting ways.
While her mother was still alive, the actress expressed her gratitude for realising that her anger for her mother was a result of her mental illness.
She claimed that despite having mental illness, her mother nevertheless nurtured a "queen."
She urged anyone with similar illnesses to seek medical attention.
