EFCC alerts on May 29 that corrupt governors and other politicians are preparing to leave Nigeria.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has warned the public about the suspected attempt to leave the nation by some governors and other politicians who are under investigation for corruption before the May 29 handover.
In a statement released on Friday night, EFCC spokesperson Wilson Uwujaren raised the alarm.
The commission claimed that in order to ensure that the intentions are thwarted, it is presently working with its international partners.
The commission committed to prosecute all politicians who engaged in corruption while holding public service.
Among other things, the statement says, "Again, the Commission wishes to alert the public about plans by some of the alleged corrupt politically exposed persons to flee the country ahead of May 29.
The Commission is collaborating closely with its foreign allies to thwart these escape attempts and bring those responsible to justice.
