While Barcelona players were celebrating their LaLiga championship victory on Sunday, Espanyol supporters attacked them.
The crowd invaded the pitch and started running towards them, forcing them to flee inside the dressing room.
Security personnel stepped in right away to protect the club's officials and players.
To stop the supporters from pursuing the players, riot cops had to stand in front of the tunnel's entrance with shields.
Before dispersing without more incident, the fans tossed chairs and other objects.
Espanyol has now expressed regret for the event.
Violence must always be condemned in all facets of life.
Espanyol coach Luis Garca remarked, "Everything was done to try and prevent this from happening but it wasn't possible."
