Igbos will back Tinubu's administration, Ohanaeze tells Peter Obi to concede defeat.

According to the sociocultural group Ohanaeze, Igbos have moved on to Bola Tinubu, the incoming president.

This occurred as Ohanaeze asked Peter Obi, the Labour Party's (LP) presidential candidate, to accept the results of the election with good fortune.

Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the secretary-general of Ohanaeze, was responding to an attack on Tinubu made by the Igbo Patriotic Forum and Elders Forum.

The organisation had argued that Tinubu shouldn't take office before the tribunal determined the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.
Isiguzoro condemned the request and stated that the Ime-Obi had determined that Igbos should support Tinubu's president until the court with appropriate jurisdiction rules that it is appropriate.

Isiguzoro claimed that Obi is the candidate for the future in a statement to Bendelnews.

Isiguzoro stated: "Until the tribunal and the Supreme Court decide who becomes the president, we would not associate with Igbos stating Asiwaju should not be sworn in on May 29.

"They were seeing examples where it was improper to award a trophy to the winner of a football game while the game was still in progress and where the election process was still proceeding until the Supreme Court issued its ruling.

Following careful deliberation with Southeast governors, Igbo elders, Ime-Obi, and the general assembly in Enugu, Ohanaeze made the decision to warn all participants in the Igbo project to be cautious of their words and avoid portraying Ndigbos as being against Tinubu because the consequences of such actions would fall on our shoulders and the Igbo populace, who are primarily traders and leave outside Igbo speaking states. The majority of them are in Lagos State, in the Southwest.

"Because Ohanaeze has nothing to lose, we are warning everyone using the Igbo platform to let the court administer justice. Those who argue that Tinubu shouldn't take the oath of office are advocating for an interim administration, which is incredibly diabolical, evil, and does not represent the interest of Ndigbos".

Isiguzoro claimed that the group wouldn't permit some individuals to pit Igbos against the incoming president.
That is their choice, but Ohanaeze will attend his inauguration and will not engage in conflict with the President-elect, he continued.

The Igbo governors of Rivers State fully endorse Ohanaeze's position, which is that we will continue to support whoever INEC names as president. Ohanaeze is urging those pushing for an interim administration to stop because it is satanic.

"We are advocating that everyone attend Tinubu's inauguration, but that does not prevent them from carrying out their duties. We are asking everyone of our 52 associated organisations to follow Ime-Obi's directive to put an end to all agitations for the 2023 elections since Ndigbo has moved on.

Before the next election, he urged the LP presidential candidate to start creating significant bridges.

Nobody should use this election to sow division between Igbos and Yorubas, and nobody should start a fight they can't win against Tinubu. Peter Obi is the candidate of the future. Igbo traders all over the nation would stoke the flames of some supposed elders' pronouncement.
