Breaking News: Osun Governor Adeleke to NYSC participants:Play your part in nation building.

Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has urged NYSC participants to contribute to nation-building efforts without resentment or hostility.

Tuesday's terminal parade and official concluding ceremony of the orientation course at the permanent orientation camp, Ede, was when Adeleke addressed the Batch A Stream II corps members.

He counselled them that the twin emotions of bitterness and rancour may render them helpless and prevent them from living their lives to the fullest potential.
Adeleke told the corps members that the government is very passionate about the programme while being represented by Teslim Igbalaye, Secretary to the State Government, SSG.

He exhorted the corps members to work hard and to reject the get rich quick mentality, emphasising that government cannot build a nation on its own and needs their involvement in order to proceed in the correct route.

"I want to reassure you that the government cares profoundly about you, which is why it continually develops programmes and initiatives to support you in realising your goals and utilising your full potential as graduate students.

But the government can't accomplish this on its own; it needs your cooperation to guide her in the correct direction. I thus urge you to support any government programme aimed at creating a favourable climate for your growth and development. Throw out the "get rich quick" mentality and instead put in the effort and diligence necessary to become someone in whom your family, society, and the next generation can take pride.

The governor of Osun cautioned the corps members to integrate properly with their host communities and make sure that the youngsters and adolescents in the areas benefit from the skills they learned at the orientation camp.

He claims that by doing this, they would gain the confidence and self-esteem they need to stay off drugs, the street and gainfully employed..

He thanked Brigadier General Y. D. Ahmed, Director General of the NYSC, on the golden anniversary of the programme and urged all parties involved, including corps employers, to continue to be kind and welcoming to the corps members.

The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Agbor Ndoma Obim, advised the corps members earlier in his address to concentrate more on what they can do to improve the lives of the people in their host areas.
Agbor also urged them to uphold the moral standards of the company they were deployed to and to do their primary jobs with a feeling of responsibility at those locations.

"Pay more attention to how you can help the residents in your host towns. Be the Change and Hope Beacon that the people need you to be. I want to strongly encourage you to take the Primary Assignment and Community Development Service seriously because you actively participated in the Orientation programme. Your participation in the fourth cardinal programme, the winding up and passing out march, will depend on how committed and unwavering you are to them.

"Make sure you perform your duties at your principal assignments with the utmost feeling of responsibility and commitment to the organization's ethics to which you have been placed. Do not skip class and try to arrive at your Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) on time. Set an excellent example and demonstrate teamwork by making your fair share of contributions to the organisations you are deployed to and the community development service group you will join moving forward.
The NYSC coordinator for Osun also asked the corps members to maintain discipline, be resilient, and be dedicated to the task of creating the country.
