The musician's assault on a police officer in uniform was captured on camera in a viral video, and the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, reportedly ordered the Lagos State Police Command to detain and charge the artist right away.
Kuti responded to the directive via his Instagram account on Saturday night and expressed his support for the probe.
I welcome the probe, and I'll fully cooperate, the man wrote. I also ask the IG to bring charges against everyone who is at fault.
