Thiago Silva to quit Chelsea for his old team

Thiago Silva, a seasoned defender, might be headed back to Fluminense.

The former captain of Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly rejoin the Brazilian team in time for the 2024 campaign.

In the summer of 2020, Silva made a free transfer to Chelsea from PSG and has since helped the Blues win three championships, including the Champions League.

The 38-year-old Silva recently extended his stay in London through the summer of 2024 by signing a new one-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

According to a recent claim by Chilean journalist Jose Tomas Fernandez Pumarino, the Brazilian team is attempting to entice the seasoned defender home when his contract with Chelsea expires next year.

He tweeted: “Thiago Silva, with a contract with Chelsea until the end of next season, is one of Fluminense’s goals for the 2024 season and they are already working on the formula to achieve said signing in January or July.”
