Following an exclusive investigation by the Daily Trust on Saturday detailing the illicit activities at the brothels, the brothel was shut down.
Several others were also arrested, according to locals who spoke with our correspondent.
"Two days ago, the military conducted a raid there and made some arrests. Meanwhile, the entire area is silent. We don't know where they took the offenders," said Halima Abdul, a local.
She claimed that the military patrols that followed the raid had made the neighbourhood a peaceful place for the locals to live.
"Normality is setting, despite the years of suffering and sorrow we endured," she remarked.
Solomon Joseph, a different local, praised the raid as one of the nicest things that could have happened to the neighbourhood and urged the military to let those with legitimate businesses go back.
There are traders operating legally at Kasuwar Fara, and we implore the military to let them return.
