FG To Deploy Scanners At Train Stations In Abuja, Kaduna, And Kano

Ademola Adegoroye, the minister of state for transportation, stated that this was done to improve the protection of people and property at the rail facilities.

He claimed that 50 handheld scanners, eight body scanners, walk-through metal detectors, and eight colour imaging x-rays would be installed at the railway stations at Idu, Rigassa, Kubwa, Jere, Kano, and Kaduna.

He declared, "Such equipment must be put at our railway stations in light of the process of security of lives and property. We are attempting to implement several things with the railways as we begin the railway revolution. We don't want someone to enter and destroy what the government has been working to establish in that industry.

"So that when people arrive there and have things, then they can pass through the scanners and they can be sure that there's nothing that can destroy, that can cause violence or inflict harm or bring lives and property into jeopardy," he said, "that's why the deal was granted."

According to Adegoroye, the FEC also gave Messrs. Arcuff a 10-year concession to operate two-way services at Lekki Deep Seaport and Dangote Jetty.

He declared that the company would provide towing services to make ship berthing and cargo discharge in the two ports simpler.
