Dino Melaye, a spokesman for Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has been denied the position of governor of Kogi State, according to Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.
If Melaye won the PDP's nomination for governor, Wike forewarned that the party would lose.
Wike underlined that the former Kogi West Senator lacked the ability to lead a state in a speech to a small group of media in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.

"People cannot vote for Dino because he is from Kogi; Dino lacks the qualifications to lead the state or serve as a legislator."
