Buhari Celebrates With Ebenezer Obey At 81

With timeless hallmark songs from the 1950s, President Muhammadu Buhari celebrated Ebenezer Obey's 81st birthday with the multi-talented singer and honoured his 66 years of influential global career.

Femi Adesina, Special Assistant to Buhari on Media and Publicity, claimed in a statement on Monday that Obey's influence in Nigeria's music industry has elevated him to the position of "head commander" for the industry.
The statement claims that Nigeria's music brand has gained international recognition thanks to the music genius' career in fusing Juju and Highlife music into a musical band.

The President thought that the renowned mentor and teacher broadened his influence by imparting knowledge, doing good deeds, and practising charity.

He helped young musicians enrol in his music school and gain training and skills, advised many against destructive habits, and offered scholarships to the less privileged while making frequent visits to orphanages and other welfare institutions.

To honour Obey's lifelong commitment, diligence, and sacrifices that led to the triumphs and the willingness to always put God first, President Buhari joined family members, friends, professional associates, and admirers.
