11 suspects eliminated by police after Zamfara bandits kill Chinese national.

11 terrorists were neutralised by tactical operators from the Zamfara State Police working with vigilantes, while others may have fled with bullet wounds.

According to DAILY POST, the terrorists' cutlasses and two AK-47 rifles were also retrieved.

The command replied to a distress call detailing the ambush of two Chinese nationals by a large number of bandits, according to a press release given to newsmen in Gusau, the capital of the State, by the State police spokesman, S P Mohammed Shehu.

The two Chinese nationals were attacked by the bandits when they were travelling to the Maradun Local Government Area of the State to inspect current projects with their police escorts and other workers, according to Shehu.

The unlucky ambush left the victims with gunshot wounds of varying degrees, and they were taken for treatment to the Federal Medical Center in Gusau, the state's capital.

"While others are responding to treatment, one of the patients, a Chinese national named FAN YU, was later confirmed dead by the doctor in charge of their medical situation.

In order to support the combined security operatives' ongoing operations to restore normalcy and capture the evading attackers, the command has sent extra operatives to the region, he said.

The police commissioner, Mr. Kolo Yusuf, expressed sympathy to the relatives of the deceased and told them that efforts were being made to apprehend those responsible for the heinous act so they may face the full force of the law.

The statement went on to say that on the same day, a distress call concerning bandits' plans to block the highway and abduct innocent motorists near Kucheri village was received by police tactical operators stationed along the Gusau-Tsafe-Yankara-Zaria road.

"The operatives mobilised and sprang into action as a deadly gunfight broke out between the police and the militants.

"Fortunately, the attack was thwarted, and the terrorists, who may have been shot, ran back to the jungle.

In order to prevent the robbers from regrouping and returning to the route, he continued, "Confidence building patrol is being intensified."
