viewers complain after seeing a female comedian perform naked on live television

Following a comedian's nude performance on a special episode of Friday Night Live, viewers have complained to Ofcom.

On October 21, Friday Night Live featured Jordan Gray, the first transgender person to ever appear on The Voice. Halfway through her performance, she took off her clothes.

In the sketch, the comic could be seen gradually taking her clothes off while still playing the keyboard live on camera.

Nearly 1,600 people who were upset by the bold performance have complained to the independent regulators since the show aired.

One week after the episode aired, 172 further complaints were made regarding Jordan's performance.

Since then, an Ofcom spokeswoman has stated: "We are evaluating the complaints against our broadcasting guidelines, but we have not yet decided whether or not to investigate."

Jordan tweeted about her performance the next day: "Last night was everything. Thank you and congratulations to @channel4 for bringing us the revival of #FridayNightLive, a true event in comedy history!

"To my stunning new followers: please be patient with those who don't understand," she subsequently added in response to the online abuse she had experienced.

No enmity. Women are gorgeous. Men are gorgeous. NBs are stunning. With a piano, I'm simply a t*t. Change can also be frightening.

Although she received criticism for her inspiring performance, the singer also received admiration for bravely flaunting her body on the program.
