Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who plays for AC Milan, said that Erling Haaland's development at Manchester City is dependent on the ego of manager Pep Guardiola.
Since joining City in the summer from Borussia Dortmund, Haaland has scored 22 goals for them in all competitions. Haaland's last club was Borussia Dortmund.
Ibrahimovic said that he is a huge fan of Haaland, but he cautioned that Guardiola may be detrimental to the player's growth.
"Do I like Haaland? Absolutely, that is the case. I have the impression that he is a really bright player. He brings to mind players like as Filippo Inzaghi, Christian Vieri, and David Trezeguet for some reason. He represents an improved version of these players.
"Can Guardiola make Haaland even stronger? Whether or not Guardiola allows him to become greater than him depends on the size of his own ego. Because he didn't let me get bigger? Who am I to judge? Not only me, but a lot of other people as well," Ibrahimovic said to Canal Plus.
During his lone season at Camp Nou in 2009/2010, Ibrahimovic had a lot of trouble, and it is well known that he and the team's manager at the time, Pep Guardiola, did not get along.
