Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has grieved the deaths caused by a Russian missile strike on Thursday in the village of Desna in the Chernihiv district, north of Kyiv.
According to CNN, Zelensky revealed this in his nightly address on Thursday.
Desna is forty (40) miles from the Belarussian border.
"There is an examination of wreckage, many dead, from Russian strikes on the Chernihiv region, particularly the catastrophic blow on the Desna," Zelensky stated.
"There are "continuous strikes on the Odesa region, on the cities of central Ukraine, the Donbas is completely wrecked — all of this has no military rationale for Russia and cannot have one."
"This is a planned and criminal endeavour to kill as many Ukrainians as possible," he added. Destroy as many houses, social facilities, and businesses as you can.
This is what will qualify the Ukrainian people's genocide, for which the occupiers will undoubtedly face justice.
"The first trial against a Russian war criminal in Ukraine has already commenced." It will culminate in the complete restoration of justice within the international tribunal.
I'm certain of it. We will track down and prosecute anyone who gives or executes criminal commands.
Russia and Ukraine have been at odds for nearly three months.
As a result of the conflict, several casualties have already been reported.
Due to political tensions, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched the invasion of Ukraine in February of this year.
