Toba is accused of cutting his girlfriend's throat and placing her body in a bush in Kara-Kekere, Ogunrun, Mowe, Obafemi Owode, Ogun State.
Toba sent Tunrayo Odubanjo to buy an alcoholic drink on May 18.
When the victim returned wearing his slippers, he allegedly attacked her.
"He instructed her to leave, but she begged, and when she did, she couldn't find her slippers. Toba stated he threw her footwear into the bush. Peju told Punch that she begged him to assist her get them from the bush.
"He threatened to use broken tiles on me when I intervened. I retreated and continued working. I informed the girl I had no slippers when she inquired. He pursued her again, took her into the bush, and beat her.
"I believed the girl's pleading was thumping. I then noticed him sitting on the woman. I promptly alerted people at the scene and the son of a chief in our town to capture him as he abandoned her corpse and ran. Toba slashed his girlfriend's throat with tiles.
Tunrayo's body was brought out of the jungle, her neck covered.
