On their trip to Ondo State, a retiree named Funso Adeyemi and her daughter Bola were allegedly kidnapped.
On the 17th of May, 2022, the duo was kidnapped while on their way to Ondo State for an event, according to family sources.
Their private car was later discovered abandoned along the Ibadan-Ilesha expressway, and relatives and friends are now concerned about their safety.
The suspected kidnappers have not contacted anyone for a ransom, fueling concerns that their kidnapping is not motivated by money.
In an interview with a family member who works in the media, it was revealed that a family member – who works in the media – had previously received threats from some individuals – including many celebrities – who were unhappy with his blunt reporting about them; however, it has yet to be determined whether the alleged abduction is a way of finally getting back at him.
The police have been notified, but no progress has been made in locating them down or rescuing them.
Mrs. Adeyemi's husband, Williams, claims that his wife was in communication with him throughout the travel until around 3 p.m., when she abruptly disappeared. An attempt to contact their daughter, Bola, was similarly unsuccessful, as her phone rang briefly before being switched off.
