The Nigerian Army said on Saturday that troops from the 34th Brigade and operatives from the Department of State Services dislodged a training camp of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), at Okporo in Imo State's Orlu Local Government Area.
The forces traded fire with the illegal gang, killing two members on security agencies' wanted lists, according to Onyema Nwachukwu, Director, Army Public Relations.
The culprits, he alleged, had been terrorising locals in the Orlu, Orsu, and Njaba areas.
According to him, the army destroyed the separatists' training shed and other facilities, including a shrine that members of the illegal organisation are claimed to utilise for spiritual fortification.
