On Saturday, a riot broke out in the Katangan area of Bauchi State's Warji Local Government Area, with enraged teenagers burning houses and injuring a pastor over another case of supposed blasphemy.
The violence apparently began when a post was published on social media alleging that a Christian girl in the area had engaged in blasphemy of Islam in response to the Sokoto event.
The State's Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakili, was unable to take his calls or respond to text messages relayed to him, thus details of the incident are still unclear.
