Babachir Lawal, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has revealed that Bola Tinubu, an All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential hopeful, will return home if the party's primaries are lost.
He stated that the former governor of Lagos State would return home and support the APC's presidential candidate.
After a support group presented Tinubu's presidential nomination paperwork to the party in Abuja on Wednesday, Lawal addressed journalists.
He promised that if the APC National Leader lost at the party's convention, he would not upset the system.
"We are Democrats," Lawal says, "and we believe that if one million people run on the APC platform, we would win the majority of the delegates at the convention." So, the more the merrier, everyone is invited. We are completely prepared.
"There are no difficulties. We are politicians who have been around for a long time. Whatever obstacles exist, we have already turned them into possibilities.
"Asiwaju is a democratic figure." Every politician should not be terrified of losing an election since there are only two outcomes: win or lose. So, if we lose at the convention, we return home, heal our wounds, and prepare to supporting the victor if he emerges in a free and fair election.
