Xavi Hernandez, Barcelona's manager, has described his team as the "most challenging club in the world."
This, according to Xavi, is due to the pressures placed on his squad to win while also playing good football.
After a 1-1 draw in Germany last week, Barcelona will host Frankfurt in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday.
Xavi, who has led the LaLiga side from ninth to second place since taking over from Ronald Koeman in November, has cautioned his players that a scrappy win, even if it secures a spot in the last four, is never enough.
"We owe it to ourselves to win and play well." Barca is my name. We all know that a 1-0 lead in the 90th minute is insufficient.
"Those who are familiar with the club know that we strive for excellence in whatever we do." That is why this is the world's most demanding club. There are no parallels. There is no other club in the world like this, and [with that] comes the pressure to perform well in order to win. In a news conference on Wednesday, Xavi added, "It's very difficult."
