Ukraine announced Saturday that it has intercepted Russian cruise missiles fired into the Lviv Region on Saturday morning.
Maksym Kozytsky, regional military governor, stated that Ukraine's anti-aircraft defences destroyed the missiles.
"On April 16, missiles were fired at the Lviv region by Russian occupiers' Su-35 aircraft," Kozytsky claimed.
"Units of the Air Command West's anti-aircraft missile forces destroyed four cruise missiles."
Additionally, Kozytsky said that the Russian aircraft that fired the missiles took off from the neighbouring Belarusian airfield of Baranovichi.
The Ukrainian military earlier stated that it knocked down six missiles fired from Belarus at its territory.
