Breaking : Oshiomhole declares his candidacy for the Senate.(2023)

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the former governor of Edo State and the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), announced Monday that he will run for the Senate to represent the Edo North Senatorial District. This comes after months and weeks of speculation.

It was at his home in Etsako West, Nigeria, where he celebrated his 70th birthday with a lot of people from the All Progressives Congress (APC). He said that when he turned 70.

To celebrate his birthday, Oshiomhole said he wanted to do it with the people who know him best. He was born under a tree by his mother, but God chose him to be what he is today because he was meant to be.

He said, "It is true that for a long time, many of our people have asked me why I don't run for the Senate. I said, "First, the APC has a crisis. Let us fix the crisis, let there be a convention, because you can't start talking about what kind of baby you are going to have when you are not married."

You can't run for office on the APC platform until the party is fixed. I have been chairman of the party, and I know how dangerous it is if we can't fix the party. This was done on March 25th, and now we have a new National Working Committee and a new National Executive Council under the leadership of Adamu Abdullahi, a former governor, a former minister, and a senator.

To keep power in 2023, we need to do what we need to do now. I'm excited by the new leadership's position, and I think we can do that."

When we talk about who should lead the great people of Edo North when they go to the senate in 2023, I think this is the right time.

Afterwards, you must be sure that you can do it and improve on it. During these times when people have asked me, I've also been thinking about myself because I don't like going to the senate. I don't want to sit down, listen to motions, and get paid at the end of the month.

I don't think I need to go to the senate to take a sabbatical because that is an important place where people are elected by their people to help with things that affect them, how money is spent, and to make sure that the people of Nigeria get value for their resources and money.

As president of the NLC, I have made it clear that democracy means that leaders must listen to the people, and if they don't, the people have the right to question the leader. If I did that as a citizen, I believe that as a senator, your interest can't be ignored in the red chamber in Abuja.
