Breaking: Boris Johnson has been barred from entering Russia due to the conflict in Ukraine.

Russia has barred UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other senior UK ministers from entering the country due to the UK's "hostile" position on the Ukraine conflict.

The UK government has been harsh in its criticism of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and has supplied millions of pounds in military aid to Ukraine, which has helped the country fend off the Russian military's onslaught.

Russia prohibited UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace, and ten other Cabinet officials from entering the country on Saturday, April 16.

Moscow claimed the move was done in revenge for the United Kingdom's sanctions against Russia following its invasion of Ukraine.

"London's unfettered media and political campaign aimed at isolating Russia globally, creating circumstances for containing our country, and suffocating the domestic economy," Russia's foreign ministry said in a statement.

"In essence, the British leadership is purposefully exacerbating the situation around Ukraine by supplying the Kyiv government with lethal weapons and coordinating comparable Nato actions," it continued.
