Freedom has been restored to Hassan Shamidozhi, traditional ruler of Bukpe village in Kwali Area Council in Abuja, 18 days after he was taken captive by robbers.
As previously reported by the DAILY POST, kidnappers broke into the palace of the paramount ruler of Bukpe community and abducted him, as well as two other people of the community, before fleeing the scene.
The other two residents, identified as Ahmad Joel and his daughter, Precious Joel, were also able to regain their freedom from their captors around 6:12 p.m. local time on Saturday.
Prior to being released, they were claimed to have paid a ransom of N2.5 million to a third party.
His abductors freed him, the guy, and his daughter after leading them to a jungle near Zokutu village, where they hiked for hours before appearing along the Abaji-Toto road, where they boarded a car to return home, according to Hassan Shamidozhi.
He stated that prior to his release, his family members, relatives, and friends contributed to a fund raising effort that resulted in an N4 million sum after extensive talks.
The PPRO of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, did not answer to phone calls seeking confirmation of the occurrence at the time of reporting this story.
