"We don't want your money; if we did, we wouldn't have attacked in the first place." You already know what we're looking for."
The kidnappers of Abuja-Kaduna train passengers have stated that their goal is not to extort money from the Federal Government.
The perpetrators said in a video published on Wednesday that the government knew what they wanted and threatened to kill the victims if their demands were not granted.
Following the release of a victim, Mr Alwan Hassan, Managing Director of Bank of Agriculture, a video was made.
The MD was released owing to his age and in the spirit of Ramadan, according to one of the robbers who spoke in Hausa.
"We are the group that kidnapped train passengers lately. They added in the video, "Among them is this man who has been appealing with us owing to his old age, and we felt pity on him because of the month of Ramadan, therefore we want to send him back to his family."
Another bandit, who was among those in military dress, agreed with their leader's statement and requested that the FG not examine them because otherwise, the victims would be executed.
"I want to underline that what he said is correct," he said. Don't try to investigate us or rescue them right away because murdering them isn't an issue for us.
