World Qualifiers: Bonke takes the place of Wilfred Ndidi in Eguavoen's lineup.

Augustine Eguavoen has replaced injured Wifred Ndidi with Innocent Bonke, a midfielder based in France, in his Super Eagles team for the World Cup playoff against Ghana.

After suffering a knee injury in Leicester City's 2-1 loss to Rennes in a Europa Conference League round of 16 match on Thursday, Ndidi will miss both legs against the Black Stars.

Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Leicester City, acknowledged Ndidi's position, saying the Nigerian international could be out for three weeks.

The defensive midfielder is now ruled out of the two-legged contest against Ghana, but Bonke has stepped in to fill the vacancy.

Bonke last played for the Super Eagles in a World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic in October 2021.

He has, however, appeared in each of Lorient's last seven Ligue 1 matches.
