Northeastern Nigeria: 50,801 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists have surrendered-Major-General Christopher Musa.

The number of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists and their families who have surrendered to the troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the North-East since September 2021 is no less than 50,801.

A news conference was held in Maiduguri on Friday in which Major-General Christopher Musa, Theatre Commander, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), stated as follows:

Musa stated that the terrorists who surrendered consisted of 11,349 fighters, 15,289 women, and 24,163 children.

According to him, the military's increased offensive and onslaught against the insurgents in the region was the reason for the victories.

"The terrorists surrendered to troops in the Bama, Gwoza, Banki and other parts of Lake Chad axis," the Commander said in a statement.

Musa stated that the Nigerian Army and other stakeholders would carefully profile the surrendered terrorists and their families before allowing them to participate in rehabilitation programmes in the country.
