Buni worked with some "Yahoo Yahoo" APC governors to sabotage the National Convention, says Akeredolu.

Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has claimed that Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has perfected steps to cause a crisis for the All Progressives Party, APC, ahead of the party's national convention on March 26.

While serving as Chairman of the APC's Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, CECPC, Akeredolu expressed displeasure with Buni's role, claiming that the Yobe State Governor plotted with a few of his colleagues, whom he referred to as "yahoo yahoo" governors, to prevent the convention from taking place.

In a statement signed by him on Thursday, the governor noted that President Muhammadu Buhari's and the majority of governors' swift intervention to defend the party from "internal scavengers" was a crucial step in preventing the party from collapsing.

Following accusations that the Buni-led CECPC was intending to disrupt the party's forthcoming national convention, Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello was appointed acting chairman of the party two days ago.

While assuring Bello of the majority of APC governors' support in hosting a successful national convention for the party, Akeredolu maintained that the APC will stay great despite the fumbled efforts of those opposed to a hitch-free convention.

"We, the Governors, are for the party except for the few "Yahoo, Yahoo" Governors (apologies to Salihu, former DG of the Progressive Governors' Forum) who worked hand in hand with Buni to subvert the will of the majority of our Party (APC) members," the statement read in part.

"In the genuine name of Progressive Governors, we are all resolved to see our Party through these patchy areas at all costs." None of the few have the courage to carry out their fictitious threats, as stated in sponsored media. We challenge them to leave the gathering.
