Breaking: Ohanaeze issues an ultimatum to Obiano

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, OYC, the apex Igbo sociocultural organisation, has reacted angrily to the fracas involving Amb. Bianca Ojukwu, widow of late Igbo leader Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and wife of former Anambra Governor Ebelechukwu Obiano.

Mrs. Obiano reportedly confronted Ojukwu's wife during the inauguration of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as Anambra Governor, resulting in a physical altercation.

In response to the incident, Ohanaeze youths issued a statement through their President-General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, urging the Obiano family to immediately repent to the entire Ndigbo.

While citing Mrs. Obiano's behaviour as a significant affront to the entire Igbo race, the OYC stated that it would not stand by and allow anyone to disrespect Ojukwu's family.

"We were shocked to witness the trending video of Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano's unjustified attack on the wife of Igbo leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu," he stated.

"To put it mildly, this is the pinnacle of insult and shame for the entire Igbo race, especially in light of what the Ojukwu family represents for Igboland as a whole.

"As a result, we are requiring the Obiano family to immediately apologise unconditionally to the Igbo people or face serious consequences." They face an ultimatum: either apologise for that heinous crime or face the wrath of the whole Igbo youths.

"Having said this, I encourage to Igbo youngsters, including Biafra agitators, to be calm while we wait for the family to act."

Okwu, on the other hand, lauded Mrs. Ojukwu for disciplining Obiano's wife, stating, "we are pleased that Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu was able to instil discipline in Mrs. Obiano, as she did not receive common teaching from her parents or husband."

"As the wife of a warlord, Mrs. Ojukwu could not have done more; we are extremely proud of her, and we know that the instruction she provided Mrs. Obiano will stay with her for numerous years," Okwu added.

He took the opportunity to congratulate Prof. Soludo on his inauguration, asking him to get things moving and restore Anambra State's glory.

"We are so confident that a new Anambra is on the horizon; we are positive that Anambra Sta's glory days are near."
