Ukraine's plan has been revealed by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in the wake of Russia's invasion of their country.
Ukrainians, according to Blinken, have a strategy in place to ensure "continuity of government one way or another" if President Volodymyr Zelensky is killed in the conflict with Russia.
On Sunday, he claimed this in an interview with CBS' "Face the Nation."
"The Ukrainians have measures in place that I am not going to talk about or go into any detail about to ensure that there is continuity of government in some way or another," Blinken added.
Blinken also commended Zelensky's "leadership" in the midst of the crisis.
"The leadership displayed by President Zelensky and the entire government is outstanding; they have been the epitome of these extremely brave Ukrainian people," he remarked.
Meanwhile, Russia and Ukraine have been at odds since last month.
Today marks the tenth day of the war, which has already claimed a large number of lives.
Over a dispute on some political issues, Russian President Vladimir Putin authorised the invasion of Ukraine.
