Five candidates have acquired Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship ahead of the party's National Convention.
Prof. Al-Mustapha Ussiju, the party's Director of Organization, the APC Caretaker Extra Ordinary Convention Planning Committee, confirmed the sale of the forms in a statement on Tuesday.
The five contestants who have acquired the forms for the chairperson position are Malam Saliu Mustapha and Abdullahi Adamu, a former Governor of Nasarawa.
Tanko Al-Makura, another former Nasarawa Governor, and George Akume, Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, are also on the list.
Mr Abdulaziz Yari, a former Governor of Zamfara from the North-East, has also secured the form, despite the party's leadership allocating the seat to the North-Central.
Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, a former Governor of Borno State, is rumoured to be considering obtaining chairmanship forms from the party's national secretariat in order to compete in the 26th March 2022 convention.
Around 4,000 delegates from throughout the country are scheduled to attend the convention, when new national leaders will be elected to run the party's operations.
