The Zamfara government explains why Assembly members will be at recruitment centres for federal jobs.

The Zamfara State Government has stated that some members of the state House of Assembly will be physically present at places where federal establishments in the state are doing recruitment exercises.

Nasiru Mu'azu Magaryawill, the state acting governor and Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, said the presence of lawmakers at recruiting venues will enhance the spirit of state applicants seeking for federal posts.

He stated this while emphasising that the state should be given special regard in terms of recruitment.

In all appointments and recruitment efforts into federal facilities, the acting governor stated that the state government would continue to prioritise its indigenes based on federal character principles.

Magaryawill made the remarks yesterday in his office, where he received an ad-hoc screening committee for the recruitment of police constables from the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Aliyu Hassan.

The acting governor expressed satisfaction with the composition of the recruitment committee for the state, noting that the state is constantly "lagging behind in this type of recruitment procedure."

He said the state should be given special consideration "given our security challenges," and that the government will "do all humanly necessary" to help the committee succeed.

"Some members of the state House of Assembly would physically be present at the venue of the recruitment process to bolster the spirit of our applicants," Magaryawill assured.
