The Nigerian government has discovered 123 companies tied to Boko Haram and ISWAP.

On Thursday, the Nigerian government linked 123 companies and 96 financiers to terrorism, focusing on those who support Boko Haram and the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP).

In addition, the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) discovered 424 financiers' associates and supporters, as well as 33 bureaux de change related to terrorism.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, said this during a briefing on President Muhammadu Buhari's anti-corruption campaign.

According to Mohammed, 45 of the suspects will be tried soon.

"For its part, the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) revealed 96 terrorist financiers in Nigeria in 2020-2021, 424 associates/supporters of the financiers, involvement of about 123 companies and 33 bureaux de change, as well as identifying 26 suspected bandits/kidnappers and seven co-conspirators," he said.

"As a result of the investigation, 45 people have been arrested and assets have been seized."
