Pochettino to leave PSG over Messi transfer

Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, has had a falling out with the club's hierarchy over transactions, including the high-profile summer arrival of Lionel Messi from Barcelona, according to the UK Mirror.

Pochettino is still the favourite to take over at Manchester United, with the Old Trafford leadership confident in their choice.

Despite being 16 points clear at the top of Ligue 1, all is not well in Paris, and PSG's ultras expressed their dissatisfaction with the team's performance in Friday's match.

Pochettino is thought to be at clashes with key club figures, including sporting director Leonardo. When the club did not meet his requests in the summer transfer market, the former Tottenham manager was furious.

At the close of last season, he urged the club to trim down his bloated playing squad, but PSG only sold one player, Mitchel Bakker.

Messi, Sergio Ramos, and Gianluigi Donnarumma were all signed against Pochettino's desires, according to reports. In a hectic summer, more players such as Georginio Wijnaldum, Nuno Mendes, and Achraf Hakimi came.

Pochettino is believed to feel betrayed by the club, and the working relationship has gone down, prompting him to ponder leaving at the conclusion of the season to join Manchester United.
