Ogun State:I'll Deal With The Yahoo Boys Who Are Threatening To come After Me-Governor, Dapo Abiodun

Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun State, claimed on Wednesday that internet fraudsters known as yahoo boys, as well as other criminals, have threatened to come after him as a result of his decision to wage war against them.

According to the DAILY POST, Abiodun re-launched the OP-MESA on January 21, declaring war on Yahoo boys and kidnappers.

However, Abiodun claimed the thieves are feeling the heat of the newly relaunched security force while addressing in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

Abiodun said the criminals have decided to go after him because he has made life unbearable for them. He was speaking at a meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State in Abeokuta.

He did say, though, that he would continue to make life difficult for state opponents.

"I understand that they have been working really hard since we launched our OP-MESA last week; in fact, what I heard is that those crooks are now claiming that Dapo Abiodun is making their lives terrible and that they will also go after me." So, rest assured, I will continue to make your life miserable and unbearable, and I will be waiting for you."

Abiodun emphasised during the discussion with Makinde that kidnappings and other crimes are common in the two states' border communities, necessitating the need for a bilateral agreement.

The combined security meeting, according to Gov. Makinde, "is the proper thing to do and it is very critical that we do it."

The governor of Oyo stated that he and Abiodun had overcome political differences to pursue a similar goal of combating insecurity in their respective states.
