Nine people have been kidnapped by bandits in the village of Yar Tsakuwa in the Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State. One of them is the current councillor of the area, Lawali Bello.
Two wives and a daughter of Alhaji Abdullahi Garba, who was a former councillor in the area, were among those taken.
Nazifi Abdullahi, a resident in the area, said that the bandits came around midnight on Saturday and worked until 2:50am.
There were a lot of homes and businesses that were stormed and ransacked by them. They stole a lot of food, food, and drugs.
"They took more than 20 people, but some of them were returned. Nine people, including our current councillor and the wives and daughter of our former councillor, are still with them."
People in Zamfara State are being treated at the Talata Mafara General Hospital after being shot by bandits.
