It Is Only When President Muhammadu Buhari Visits That The North gets a break From Attacks — Shehu Sani

As a member of the 8th National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central, expressed concern about the persistent attacks by bandits and other terrorist groups on the country's northern and western regions.

According to the DAILY POST, portions of the region, mostly in Kaduna and Niger states, have continued to boil as a result of the terrorists' attacks on communities in the region.

Remember that the Kaduna State Government announced yesterday that bandits killed a total of 1,192 persons and kidnapped 3,348 people in the state in the year 2021.

Mr Samuel Aruwan, the state Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, explained that the Kaduna Central Senatorial District had recorded approximately 720 deaths as a result of banditry, communal clashes, violent attacks, and reprisal attacks between January and December 2021, which he presented to Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

According to the commissioner, the operations of armed bandits in the Southern Kaduna Senatorial District resulted in the deaths of 406 people in the district.

In a similar vein, attacks on the Galadima-Kogo and Galkogo settlements of Shiroro Local Council in Niger State resulted in the deaths of scores of people and the destruction of a large number of homes just a few days ago.

The armed individuals were claimed to have initiated the attacks after gaining control of the area and overpowering security personnel.

The former congressman expressed regret for the ongoing attacks and stated that the only time the region receives respite from the attacks is when President Muhammadu Buhari pays a visit.

In a tweet sent on his official Twitter handle on Wednesday, Senator Shehu Sani revealed his position on the matter.

Mr. Buhari stated that, "Bandits continue to kill in Kaduna, Niger and other states in the North West; the only time a reprieve occurs is when the president visits the region."
