FCT Council Polls: Gabaya of the PDP wins the Bwari chairmanship election.

Shekwogaza John Gabaya of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was proclaimed the victor of the Bwari Council Chairmanship election in the Federal Capital Territory by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday.

Prof. Amuche Madu, the INEC Returning Officer for the Bwari Area Council Election, delivered the statement on Sunday morning.

Gabaya, the current chairman of the council, received 13, 045 votes to defeat his opponent, Mr Haruna Shekwolo of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 7,697 votes, according to Amuche.

Abubakar Abdullahi, the candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), came in third with a score of 603, according to her.

Shekwogaza Gabaya of the PDP is hereby declared the winner and is re-elected, having satisfied the legal requirements and received the largest number of votes." Madu continued.
