Pelumi Olajengbesi, a lawyer, has requested that Abba Kyari and those arrested for their involvement in a cocaine trade be paraded before the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Since Monday, Kyari, a suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), and four other officers have been detained.
Inspectors Simon Agrigba and John Nuhu are ACP Sunday Ubuah, ASP James Bawa, and Inspectors Simon Agrigba and John Nuhu. John Umoru, a wanted ASP, has yet to be apprehended.
Olajengbesi reacted by saying that security authorities had yet to show "equivalent lawlessness" in investigating and shaming citizens.
Suspects are routinely interviewed on camera and photographed while holding boards with damning markings, the rights activist reminded them.
Olajengbesi was perplexed as to why Kyari and his guys had not been displayed with recovered stuff like "ordinary criminals."
"We need the NDLEA to send Abba Kyari to answer questions on TV while the 25kg cocaine is displayed." "Let us not lose hope in this country!" commented the lawyer on Facebook.
The Police Service Commission (PSC) suspended the officers charged with ties to an international narcotics syndicate on Thursday.
"DCP Abba Kyari, who was suspended previous to this allegation, will remain suspended. The IGP has been notified of ASP John Umoru's detention, according to the PSC.
The NDLEA Chairman, Buba Marwa, a retired Army General, was copied on the letter to Inspector General of Police Usman Baba (Ref CB: 4099/FHQ/ABJ/Vol16/151).
The statements Kyari made to undercover officers probing the cocaine seizure were previously published by the anti-narcotics agency.
