Borno Is Peaceful Now-Zulum

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has stated that the state is reasonably quiet.

The recent military offensive against insurgents, according to Zulum, is to blame for the state's relative calm.

After a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House yesterday, the Governor revealed this.

According to Bashir Ahmad, Buhari's Personal Assistant on New Media, the Governor updated the President on the current security developments in the state.

"Earlier today, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State updated President @MBuhari on the latest security developments in his State," Ahmad said.

"Following the meeting, Gov. Zulum stated that the state is currently reasonably tranquil, following Nigerian troops' recent offensive on rebels."

Borno State has been a hotbed of terrorism, with ISWAP and Boko Haram waging attacks on local populations on a regular basis.
