Two people have been discovered dead in a septic tank in Rivers State's Obio Akpor Local Government Area's Rumuekini village.
Two adults, described as "father and son," died on Saturday while attempting to manually empty the septic tank.
They were reported to have died as a result of the septic tank's stench.
According to witnesses, the man started coughing inside the tank before his son dived in to save him, but they both died as a result of the lack of support.
The stench of kerosene from the tank, according to eyewitnesses, may have contributed to the death.
Meanwhile, some officers from the Choba police divisional headquarters have evacuated the bodies, and the state police leadership has yet to publish a statement on the situation.
