A father has been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command for allegedly raping his three-year-old daughter in the state's Kirfi Local Government Area (LGA).
SP In a statement, Ahmed Wakil, the command's spokesman, said the arrest was part of the state's efforts to combat criminality and crime-related offences.
According to Wakil, the victim's 24-year-old mother, Maryam Abdullahi, told police that her husband requested her to fetch a mat to lay the baby on.
When she returned to the room, she saw her daughter was unconscious, sweating, and vomiting through her mouth and nose. Her private area was enlarged as well.
