In #Anambra, another #boarding school student has died.

As the investigation into the death of a Dowen College boarding student, Sylvester Oromoni, continues, another boarding student of St. Michael's Boys College, Ozubulu, Anambra State, Chimdalu Onyekwuluje, has reportedly died.

Onyekwuluje, an 11-year-old JSS 2 student at the school, was said to have died as a result of school management negligence, who allegedly refused to call his parents to pick him up after he became ill.

He was buried at his family compound in Uzoakwa, Ihiala, Anambra State.

Prince Cornelius and Ogochukwu Onyekwuluje, the deceased's parents, told journalists that even when the student's health had completely worsened, the management demanded that he stay behind to finish his examinations before being released, claiming that this choice was the cause of his death.

"My son died as a result of the school's incompetence," Onyekwuluje added. They refused to inform us he was unwell. My son's cousin borrowed a phone and called his mother to inform us that Bright was dying and that we should come and pick him up.

"He said he was the one who drove him from the school dorm to the classroom every day to take exams.

"Even after the call, I reached out to my son's guardian, but he lied to me, telling me that the boy was fine and that nothing was wrong." I insisted on coming from Port Harcourt, Rivers State where I live to pick him, and they insisted it was nothing serious.

When I insisted on seeing him, I was taken aback because the young child appeared to be dying. I questioned the guardian whether this was the young boy who he had declared he was fine, but he remained silent. I've now lost my only child."

Meanwhile, the school's principal, Rev Fr Romanus Ike Muoma, has rejected that the school administration took too long to release the youngster to his parents.
