Over the weekend, gunmen suspected of being Fulani herdsmen killed a commercial driver, Oluwatosin Aruwajoye, and abducted five passengers, while another person, Ibrahim Tiamiyu, was shot in the thigh on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway's Onigaari sector.however one of the passengers was able to flee.

The body of the driver was taken to Adeoyo State Hospital's mortuary on Ring Road.

The police allegedly combed the bush in an attempt to save the victims and catch the offenders.

Kidnappers reportedly sought a ransom of N30 million for the female victim.

The kidnappers called a female relative of one of the victims in Lagos a few hours after the abduction, according to a trustworthy source.

When reached, Adewale Osifeso, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), spokeswoman for the Oyo State Police Command, verified the event and described it as terrible.

He said, "In due order, there will be an update."
