NBC pulled the Golden Globes award on Sunday, January 9 due to a scandal involving the voting organisation, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).

After it was revealed that there were no Black members, the organization's voting membership was subjected to a Hollywood boycott last year. The HFPA was openly chastised by many studios and celebrities, with Tom Cruise returning his three prizes.

The event was likewise dropped by NBC, therefore the 2022 version was neither televised or streamed online. The nominees for this year's awards were not present.
