Newcastle United wants Odion Ighalo back in the Premier League

Odion Ighalo, a former Manchester United striker, has emerged as a surprise January target for Newcastle United.

According to Sky Sports, Newcastle United are on the lookout for a new striker as they attempt to improve their offensive unit following a poor start to the season, and former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo is one of the names on the shortlist.

According to Sky Sports, Ighalo is now with Al Shabab, but will join Newcastle if they make a formal approach in January.

Ighalo has performed in Spain, England, Italy, China, and Saudi Arabia, among other countries. He is best known for his time in the Premier League, where he scored 40 goals in 100 competitive appearances for Watford from 2014 to 2017. Before moving to China, he scored 40 goals in 100 competitive appearances for Watford.

Ighalo returned to England in early 2020 after three years in the Chinese Super League, joining Manchester United on a loan deal. He returned to China at the start of this year, but after his contract with Shanghai Shenhua expired, he signed a €2.5 million deal with Al Shabab.
