In light of the numerous failures of President Muhammadu Buhari's administration, the Hausa Association of Nigeria (also known as Kungiyar Hausawan Nijeriya or KUNHAN) has called on him to resign from his position as president.
Activists such as Nnamdi Kanu of the Indigenous People of Biafra and Sunday Adeyemo, alias Sunday Igboho, of the Yoruba Nation were targeted by the Buhari dictatorship, according to an open letter to Buhari published on Sunday.
the "Hausas regret supporting and voting for the candidates," the association stated "Buhari has received a tremendous amount of support.
"As a result, we respectfully request that you resign with immediate effect. According to the letter, "we believe the worst is yet to come under your leadership."
"As a Hausa Association (KUNHAN), we believe it is vital to write you this open letter in order to reflect the actual picture of Hausas' mood during this tough moment," the letter continues. We were under the impression that we had chosen a messiah based on your words, "We are going to secure this country, we are going to manage it properly, we will continue to improve the security situation, the economic situation, and fight corruption," but it turned out that you were making up something.
"Turji and his ilk are high-profile lethal Fulani terrorists who have yet to be apprehended since they are only a menace to Hausas rather than your sovereignty, whereas Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho might be discovered even outside of our borders," the statement continued.
"The most fundamental responsibility you were entrusted with as President when you were sworn in is to protect lives and property, but hundreds, if not thousands, of crimes and acts of genocide against Hausas were committed under your watch.
Our people are constantly imprisoned and slain, while our mothers and daughters are raped ruthlessly in the absence of any concrete measures to combat the problem at its source.
In so many instances, you have boasted about crushing the bandits and proclaiming that you will take required measures, but it has all been for naught.
Due to your bogus threat, the bandits have evolved to the point where they can dictate to our collective population. For more over five years, this has been going on, and we have seen these terrorists on numerous occasions, including with Sheikh Abubakar Gumi and even with serving governors, yet they have remained unapprehended and unpunished.
The answer is one, since they do not pose a threat to this administration, whereas those who appear to pose a threat are already in prison; Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho are among those who are already in prison.
"That's why a full Minister of Information referred to them as 'ordinary criminals,' whereas Nnamdi Kanu was referred to as a terrorist." "As a result, we Hausas regret having supported and voted for you in such large numbers," we say, "and we demand your resignation with immediate effect since we believe the worst is still to come under your administration."
