After her 'dramatic breakup' with Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears attacks Diane Sawyer over a 2003 interview.

Diane Sawyer, the host of a 2003 interview Britney Spears granted following her "big breakup" with fellow music star Justin Timberlake, has been singled out by the pop star.

Spears was 22 when Sawyer interviewed her for a 45-minute primetime special in which he made her cry, pried into her sex life, showed the singer photos of herself (looking hot and iconic), and then asked, condescendingly, "what she did" to cause the breakup, "What happened to your clothes?" Sawyer has since apologised for the interview. "Do you like the sound of your voice?" What's more, "Everyone always thought you had a different relationship with young girls," says the kicker.

With a large microphone and a message of vengeance for those who she claims were complicit in her sexist press bashing in the early aughts, Spears, who was just released from a gruelling conservatorship, is back on the internet 18 years after the interview.

Aside from that, Britney Spears took a shot at her father and old management team for pressuring her into giving a Diane Sawyer interview in 2003.

While she admitted that she was in a vulnerable position and didn't want to conduct the interview, her management team "placed that woman in my home and forced me to talk to her on national television," according to the now-deleted Instagram post.

She chastised the presenter for making her weep and accused her of pursuing a "you're in the wrong" agenda by addressing Diane.

Britney wrote, "I'd like to bring up the interview."

"Do we dare forget the Diane Sawyer interview that took place in my apartment nearly two decades ago?

How did you get away with saying, "you're in the wrong"?" "a method of approaching?? Seriously... and you're making me cry???"

The singer recalled the events leading up to the interview, saying:

"I lived alone in my apartment for a year, and I didn't communicate with anyone. My boss brought that woman into my home and forced me to speak with her on national television, during which she inquired as to if I had a shopping issue.

"When did I start having difficulties with shopping??? Something I never mentioned when I went through that major breakup [heartbreak emoji] years ago was that I was unable to speak for a few days thereafter...

"After that, I didn't speak to anyone for a very long period....

I was in complete shock... it was pretty lame of my father and three men to show up at my door when I was unable to speak... two days later, they brought Diane Sawyer into my living room.

"They coerced me into speaking!!! I was a tiny tot... "A woman or a girl," she said, and I didn't understand what she was talking about... but now I f***ing understand

The pop star also expressed her delight at being able to take back control of her financial situation. She expressed herself as follows;

"As a result, now that I am able to have cash, I went to an ATM and was ecstatic to receive $300... and no, I am not embarrassed to share this information... well, maybe a little... but I am embarrassed for my family for tolerating the fact that I was not permitted access to money while working my little a** off for them for so long.

"I'm embarrassed for the State of California for allowing my father to force me to work as hard as he did for all of those years and never seeing a dollar of the money he earned for me. It makes me feel embarrassed and sad for all of them, because I now understand my own value and worth... and they have LOST ME!!!"

She closed by stating that she had used the money to purchase Christmas presents for her fans and wished them all the best over the holiday season.

Britney went on to say;

"I spent my money on chocolate, Christmas socks, and a bottle of white wine, which was a wonderful experience.

"When I returned home, I had a strong sense of independence. I hope you are all enjoying a good holiday season."

Britney Spears, who was placed under conservatorship for 13 years, has previously stated that she was subjected to conservatorship abuse during her time in custody. She has previously accused her family, particularly her father Jamie, of perpetrating similar abuse; however, Jamie has categorically denied any culpability. Her sister Jamie Lynn and mother Lynne, both of whom have denied any involvement, were also targeted by Spears's barbs.
